![]() The peculiarity of bowling with Tekken characters does wear thin after a while, but it doesn't hamper the fun value of the game on iota. The most surprising thing about Tekken Bowl is that it's incredibly fun to play and is quite addictive. Even after playing a few rounds, it's not out of the ordinary to bowl a few gutter balls. Both meters move at a very rapid pace, and it's fairly hard to consistently bowl strikes. While it definitely seems simple, it's actually quite challenging. This will determine the speed at which the ball is rolled. Once the amount of spin is set, a vertical meter will appear that's very similar to the kicking meter that'll be found in most soccer or football games. The player must press the button to set the amount of spin that'll be put on the ball and the speed of the arrow moves at varying rates of speed based on the character that you're using. The meter is a half circle that has an arrow button swinging back and forth on it. Once you have him or her in position, you press the Circle button to start the meter. First, you set the horizontal position of your fighter, err.bowler, by pressing left or right on the directional pad. The bowling interface isn't like any other bowling game I've played. As you'd expect, the bigger and stronger characters tend to have a more powerful roll, while the smaller, quicker characters tend to have better accuracy. ![]() All of the different Tekken characters are either right- or left-handed and actually have different strengths and weaknesses in the art of bowling. If the first ball is a strike, the second character bowls first ball of the next frame, if not, the character bowls the second ball of the current frame. ![]() The first character chosen bowls the first ball and the second character bowls afterwards. Once unlocked, players can participate in a round of bowling with any two of the various Tekken characters that have been unlocked in the game's arcade mode. ![]() Tekken Bowl Tournament The biggest addition is undoubtedly the game's hidden bowling game, Tekken Bowl Tournament (which is unlocked after the player beats the game with several different characters). Fans of the extras that Namco typically throws in its games will be pleased to know that the PlayStation 2 version of Tekken Tag Tournament has a few new things up its sleeves as well - and it's not just the improved graphics. ![]()
