![]() In case you are not satisfied with the commercial Service, once you have subscribed you have the right to obtain a full reimbursement, provided you purchased the subscription directly from Windscribe, and given that your request is sent within 3 commercial days from the subscription payment. The free service differs from the commercial service only with respect to bandwidth limitations and available servers. Windscribe strongly encourages to test the free Service before you pay any subscription to commercial plans. ![]() You will not have any Internet access when you're disconnected from Windscribe. > - Always On - Firewall is always on, and cannot be disabled unless you change this setting. > - Manual - You can toggle the firewall on or off whenever you want. You should leave it in this mode unless you know what you're doing. It will remain on if your connection suddenly drops. > - Automatic (Default) - Firewall will be enabled when you connect, and disabled when you disconnect from a location. But as soon as you disconnect (which is what happens when you switch locations), I strongly assume the firewall will be disabled with it until it gets re-enabled upon having achieved the connection to a new location. Why? The firewall in the "automatic" only protects you if you are connected to the Windscribe VPN and at some point lose the connection. In order to reliably halt all internet traffic you have to go into the preferences and choose "always on" from the firewall mode drop-down field. Having said that, just activating the firewall in the main interface of the application isn't enough to provide total protection for what you were doing. As Windscribe makes a clear distinction between their own firewall mode and the killswitch of other VPNs, it has to work properly. I would say 1-2 on a two day average. That's actually what the firewall should reliably prevent from happening, or it wouldn't be a firewall at all. The P2P is still only about 22-27MB/s though.ĮDIT4: As of the 14th of March 2020 I have been noticing some disconnects in all servers I have used within a extended timeframe. ![]() The speeds seem to have deteriorated a little since this test.ĮDIT3: Speeds are basically back to normal. You do not have to worry about them logging personal info which therefore means torrenting/P2P is more than okay and no need to worry about DMCA requests being forwarded (Unless you leak)ĮDIT: I started seeing people complain about random speed drops and disconnect issues but I have yet to receive any.ĮDIT2: Speeds are now more around 180-200Mb/s on Speedtest, 300Mb/s on Steam, and 18-23MB/s on P2P. Windscribe is a 100% no identifiable logs VPN. There are other services like TorGuard that gives you two IPs and each IPs work with all your streaming platforms but to do so you will be paying more than what Windscribe is offering (11USD a month compared to 9USD). There are location specified as "Windflix" which should be 100% compatible with Windflix and Hulu. IKEv2 is basically the only doable protocol on this VPN, their OpenVPN protocol is kind of slow. It is not a app for advanced users but gets the job done and that is all that matters. There are not much settings to mess about with on Windscribe, however, there are enough on the app to allow some personal customizations. You just connect and go, however, if you are a more advanced user setting up the VPN is the best option.Īpps Protocol Settings & Overall Connection Settings This VPN is more like TorGuard in the regards that you do not need to do anything like turning off IPv6 on your ISP Adapter (Like FastestVPN) all you do is connect and it automatically blocks IPv6 if needed to reduce/eliminate DNS leaks. ![]() NOTE: This is without port forwarding (On All) ![]()
